I’m not on Twitter (or X.com, as it is now known) as I didn’t want my name or work alongside the avalanche of racist, fascist, homophobic and transphobic material that has proliferated since Elon Musk purchased the site. Anyone who contacts you via Twitter/X.com purporting to be me and offering to write about your music or the music of an artist you represent for money is impersonating me to defraud you. I would never do that.
That I need to waste any of my precious remaining hours on this planet playing whack-a-mole to delete these fraudsters, who are exploiting Musk’s perversion of the verification system, is simply another example of his enshittification of the internet and, by extension, the whole world.
My advice? Leave Twitter. I did, and my life is better for it.
